We are launching a new feature here at The Pearl Mic called Remix Wednesdays. We will highlight talented ladies who covers or remake a song; or as we like to say, flip good songs to their liking; making it their own. We decided to kick off RW with Jeni (Jenny Suk), a singer/composer who remixed SBTRKT’s “Wildfire” featuring Little Dragon & Drake. In the video, Jeni remakes the beat from scratch, and covers Little Dragon and Drake’s verses pretty good.

Last week, Drake stunned fans with a second tattoo dedicated to Aaliyah, along with an announcement that he will produce an entire album featuring the late chanteuse. Regardless of Drake’s lovable obsession, Aaliyah sounds better than ever in the Noah “40″ Shebib produced track, “Enough Said.” After giving this song a listen, an Aaliyah-Drake debut, is definitely something to look forward to.

After making Drake’s “Marvin’s Room” an anthem for the ladies who endured drunken calls from silly exes, JoJo, collaborated with the song’s producer, Noah “40″ Shebib for her new single, “Demonstrate“. This steamy slow jam is perfect for R&B lovers, and proves that JoJo is not a little pop princess no mo’.

Cool Album Cover: Melanie Fiona’s MF LIfe x “I Been That Girl” track
This cover reveals the whole premise of her album: Lost Love. Speaking of lost love, Melanie Fiona tells the truth in her latest track, “I Been That Girl”, which was co-written by my husband Drake. It was great that he helped Melanie be that voice of reason in the track. And since that woman can sing, he played around with her vocal power.
