Over the weekend, one of our good friends, Tara J., invited us to celebrate her birthday at the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. This was a great, unconventional way to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it felt really good to contribute to helping over 2,000 hungry families.
“Since i have everything I need, I celebrated my birthday by giving back to those in need. As a result, my closest friends and family members were able to assist in feeding over 2,000 families,” said Tara who plans to start a non-profit of her own that will assist those in need of food, clothing and shelter.
More than 20 of us got together at 8 a.m. on Saturday ready to celebrate with the birthday girl.
After signing in and autographing waivers, we took a tour of the facilities and shown a mini documentary about the Foodbank. After that, we got to work:
It was a fulfilling experience and will do it again in a heartbeat.
